sunday school lesson

the scene - sunday school class in ocean springs, mississipp. the players - (teacher) an enthusiastic woman with a thick german accent; (class member) a good-humored man with a thick southern drawl. the subject - book of mormon prophet, samuel the lamanite, and what practicing latter-day saints can draw from his story:

teacher: "what can we learn from this story today? do all the saints believe everything the prophet says?"
class member: "well, saints in the south do. saints in the north don't. (pause) that's just what i heard."

you learn something new every week.
