it all started with a midnight swim. teej and i were ill-prepared (if that's even possible) and found ourselves emerging from the ocean in sagging, see-through attire. then teej decided to get naked. i guess dry and indecent trumps moist and modest. dax, katie, sniar, and i surrounded her with towels as she changed into warm, less translucent, attire for the walk home. somehow i got stuck toweling off with only three shields, revealing my birthday suit to the pacific horizon.
needless to say, the trip to la was just what i needed. i managed to drop in on a ricasa family party, kick it in the oc, take a boxing class, dine with mar and grove, emit an irreverent squeal during church, lose miserably (and belligerently) in a game of apples to apples, and relapse into carnivorous behavior over sushi. summary: i love friends. thanks for putting up with my lack of forethought and for making it such a great time!
random tidbits:
- recent vertigo symptoms (temporarily induced by middle earitations) have caused me to reflect on old episodes of 30 rock, method acting exercises, and lyrics to the following songs: you spin me round, fallin', the way you make me feel, and gravity.
- after a series of culinary catastrophes, i made pad thai without setting off smoke alarms (see proof, right).
- the lamppost in front of this indian village home (see right) totally looks like the one from the bbc version of the lion, the witch and the wardrobe.
- spring. what a great idea. detroit is all a-blossom these days, beckoning residents out of their winter hibernation. i absolutely love how many trees there are in this city.
