i listened to the following exchange between my brother and his 7-year-old son:
"what do you know about martin luther king?"
"he got shot."
"why did someone want to shoot him?"
"he was trying to help the browns."
i assure you an inspiring conversation followed about what it means to judge someone by "the content of their character and not the color of their skin" and how important it is to use words and not violence to express yourself.
i just do not remember it quite as well.
